It’s taken us so long to launch because we have set up a supply chain directly with the people on the ground who share our values, people we want to buy oils from, to help them, and who in turn, want the business.
But it doesn’t stop there, we want to ensure that they get a consistent supply of money, and that they use it in a good way, which helps the planet, their communities and that their lives are elevated.
When you do something so specific, even if it’s working through third parties, through NGOs and local people who want to help, then things can really and rapidly move in a positive direction.
These third parties are busy educating, helping their community, their area, on the ground. We are regularly checking up on them, finding out what they need, what the situation is, how we can help. Do they need this, that or the other? Is it sustainable at it its core? Is there a better way forward?
That was the thought we had, behind what we needed to do within this business.
We fully intend to be B-corp, because we want to make sure we are incredibly socially responsible as well as looking after the environment. The environment is key because if we all kill the planet there is no place to live. And obviously all these raw materials are from nature and we couldn’t have them without it. Aside from that we absolutely adore the natural world and do not want to see anymore destruction of it.
